This wine just makes you tumble down the rabbit hole, takes you on a trip to Narnia or Woodstock. It is seductive and dreamy. This is made to impress and relax you when you really need to just kick back and think about life’s pleasures, such as pushing an enemy straight of a cliff when they got themselves in a mega jam. Watching jet fighters come in and out of the Norfolk airbase, Watching Formula One and then The Masters on television with not a care in the world.

Vintage Notes

The 2023 growing season was defined by a cool spring, and a long summer growing season, free of excessive heat. Abundant winter rainfall replenished soils and reservoirs, leading to a mild spring that delayed budbreak and flowering. Summer temperatures remained moderate, allowing for slow, even ripening and exceptional flavor development. The absence of prolonged heat spikes preserved natural acidity while extending hang time, resulting in wines with remarkable balance and complexity.

Vineyard Notes

Sourced from small, family vineyards, (in some cases for 3-4 generations) that are farmed with great care and attention. These vineyards (some are 80+ years old) have been brought together, actually woven together, so the magical fruit could at last become Fortunate Son.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Cooperage

Aged for 35 months in 100% new French oak. We only use the finest French oak barrique with stave wood that is hand-selected for ultra-tight grain, then air dried for three years before being made into barrels.

Tasting Notes

The 2023 The Dreamer Cabernet Sauvignon pops from the glass with energetic notes of ripe blackberries and black currants, leading to an undercurrent of crushed rocks, mint tea, and charcoal with a touch of cedar chest. Full-bodied, the palate has a rock-solid structure of firm, grainy tannins and a lively line with muscular black fruit layers, finishing on a lingering minerally note. The Dreamer can be enjoyed when you are looking for inspiration and it can be enjoyed in times of stress, like when you’re asked to attend a birthday party for your sister’s 3-year-old (your nephew who looks like a small Shar-pei dog as he is overfed) and her friends other 20 screaming menaces. I suggest at least a bottle before departure, one during, and another upon arriving home from the gates of hell.
