The Blade

Sauvignon Blanc

A poised and generous expression, citrus, floral, and honey-laced, with energy, depth, and a lingering mineral finish. There’s a quiet tension beneath the opulence, with phenolic drive and a subtle salinity that lend precision and length.

97 Points

“Serious concentration, with golden and green apples, minerals and subtle fresh-herb accents.”

James Suckling, jamessuckling.com , September 15th 2026

Vintage Notes

The 2025 growing season began with modest winter rains that replenished soils and set the foundation for a balanced year. Budbreak was even, with warmer spring conditions tempered by a few frost events requiring careful management. A season of contrast, summer conditions were largely moderate, supporting slow, even ripening, with brief heat events in July and August advancing maturity without loss of balance. Harvest required both efficiency and precision, as steady picking windows alternated with intermittent rain. The resulting wines show layered fruit, vibrant acidity, and a balance of depth and restraint.

Vineyard Notes

Sourced from a single, small, family-owned vineyard, farmed with great care and attention (their “dream” standard) and never forced to pick by weather or tank capacities. Made by sorting the fruit berry by berry, fermenting in small, French oak fermenters, and long aging in the finest barriques. The secret is no compromise and no detail overlooked, ever.

Composition

Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Musqué

Appellation

Napa Valley

Cooperage

Aged on full fermentation lees for 11 months. No stirring. A mix of new oak, puncheons & cigar shaped barrels. The cigar shape barrel increases surface area of lees to wine therefore promoting generous mouthfeel in the wine. 5% Stainless Steel Drum. 27% Acacia extra pink staves with a custom toast level.

Tasting Notes

The 2025 The Blade Sauvignon Blanc soars from the glass with vivacious notes of gooseberries, green apples, and wet slate, followed by suggestions of elderflower, wet pebbles, and white pepper. The medium to full-bodied palate is concentrated with orchard and citrus flavors, framed by a satiny texture and a refreshing line, finishing long and minerally. A word from Jayson about The Blade

This wine is a work of art, it embraces you, sweeps you up with its comforting array of flowers, white fruit and fresh hay, and grandmothers apple pie baking in the oven. It has such silkiness, complexity and raw energy harnessed like a Formula One car in the twisties. It is intoxicating and very sexy like young love and the first time you fell so hard for someone that just made your heart skip a few beats.
